In an endless field of virtual poppies, a woman walks towards nowhere.

The landscape glides past her while she remains trapped in an artificial motion, until a swarm of mechanical insects begins to circle, observe and pursue her.

Virtual Blossom transforms a seemingly idyllic landscape into a playful technological hallucination — a synthetic nature where beauty, surveillance and irritation gradually become indistinguishable.

PROCESS

Created for Maitrepierre’s Let’s Play SS25 collection, the film was shot inside an immersive virtual production studio in Barcelona, placing the performer directly within a real-time digital environment projected across a large LED volume.

Rather than using virtual production to recreate a perfectly realistic world, the film deliberately exposes its construction. Screens, cameras, studio space and technical mechanisms remain visible within the frame. The virtual environment evolved live throughout the shoot, turning the production process itself into a shifting space between fashion, cinema and digital illusion.
